Our Elk Grove book club just read this book. I had seen the movie and the play, but don't remember reading the book. There were large sections I didn't even know took place! It gave much greater insight to the character of Scout. Our hostess took the location to the novel at heart when preparing dinner for the group - fried chicken, collard greens and biscuits!!
Has anyone else read this classic lately and if so, do you see the any corrolation between the characters and their personal beliefs of the 1930's with the time it was written (1960)?
Also, how do the other book clubs (that meet in person work)? Lunch or Dinner or just conversation and snacks? How do you pick your books?
